NATIONAL EDUCATION DAY 2022

Central Research Facility and Santosh Startups Forum (SSF), in collaboration with the Institution Innovation Council (IIC) of Santosh Deemed to be University, celebrated National Education Day - 2022 on 11th Nov 2022. The auspicious day started with Saraswati Vandana, followed by a series of interactive sessions.Dr. Sanjeev Tomar, Convener & Innovation Activity Coordinator (IIC) introduced the theme of National Education Day - 2022 i.e. Changing Course, Transforming Education and the importance of celebrating this event. He also explained the importance and necessity of innovation in the healthcare sector.

Dr. Jyoti Batra, Dean Research & Vice president (IIC) addressed the students on the importance of entrepreneurship and the benefit of studying entrepreneurship and innovation. Dr. Batra also informed the students about the Incubation Facility and Entrepreneurship Development course offered by the University at no cost to its students, faculties and staff.

Dr. Neeti Mittal, IPR & Startups Activity coordinator (IIC) started by encouraging the students to take the entrepreneurial path by citing some great examples of people with medical backgrounds, who have created a niche for themselves in the Indian Startup Ecosystem: like Pradeep Dadha of NetMed, Prashant Tandon of 1mg, Dhawal Shah of Pharmeasy, etc. She also introduced the National Startup and Innovation Policy (NISP), an initiative of MHRD & AICTE: its goal & objectives and MoE's Innovation Cell, its major functions, roles and responsibilities of the Members and the local committee members.

Ms. Indu Rani, Incubation Manager (SSF) interacted with the students and emphasized the need to foster a culture of innovation and how Santosh Startups Forum is supporting new ideas, innovations and nurturing budding entrepreneurs within the campus. She also discussed the importance of IPR for Startups and encouraged the students to come forward with and share their ideas with the incubation centre and IIC team.

At the end, a poster presentation was also done by the BDS students. The event was coordinated by the members of the Student Innovation Council and attended by 90 students and 5 faculties.
